Kaplica św. Jurija na Svete Gore. Wstawiona tablica z wczesnego średniowiecza z nieznanym wizerunkiem.
Sv. Jurij on Svete gore - is the name of Mary's pilgrimage church, meaning »St. George on the holy mountains«, is situated on a hill above the Sotla Valley, in Lower Styria. Here, archaeological excavations brought to daylight the foundations of a fort, which dated to the period of 4th - 6th century AD (Ciglenicki 1992, 67). Close to Mary's church two chapels were found, one is consecrated to St. George and the other one to St. Martin. Both chapels are from the pre-Romanesque period, i.e., from early Christianity. On the front of the first one, next to an undeciphered inscription, there is a figure engraved with rising hands, which has been explained as »a praying man« (molivec), a possible figure of Jarnik. - The ground-plan of the chapels is four-angular, typical for a hram, the pagan temple. That the chapels were consecrated to St. George (April 24) and to St. Martin (November 11) is not accidental. It represents the start and ending of the farmer's year: It opens with St. George and closes with St. Martin.
